Low back pain (LBP) is the fifth most common reason for physician visits and affects nearly 60-80% of people throughout their lifetime. Some studies have shown that up to 23% of the world’s adults suffer from chronic low back pain

The guidelines talk about ways to stop low back pain. They suggest doing exercises to prevent problems like missing work and having more pain later on. It's especially helpful to do exercises that strengthen the muscles in your back and tummy, along with regular exercise like walking or swimming. They say doing a special program with exercises and learning can help if you already have a lot of back pain that keeps coming back. But just learning about back pain and how your body works might not help much by itself. It's better if you learn about back pain along with other treatments, like exercises and talking with a therapist. Personalized programs and treatments might work better than group ones. Some things like special belts or insoles for your shoes probably won't help prevent back pain. And using certain kinds of mattresses or chairs might not make a difference. But making your work area more comfortable and doing exercises regularly can help you get back to work faster. The exercise plan includes warming up with a few exercises, then doing different kinds of exercises to strengthen different muscles in your body. After each exercise, you should keep track of how hard it was for you, so you can see your progress over eight weeks.
